At Trident Star Academy, we aim to provide high-quality group education tailored to each student's needs. Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of how our tutoring sessions work:

1. Choose Your Subject & Level

Start by selecting the subject and level you need help with. We offer a wide range of subjects across different exam boards, such as AQA, Edexcel, or OCR, for various levels (KS3, GCSE, A-level, etc.). For example, you could select AQA Biology at GCSE level.

2. Book & Pay for Your Session

Once you've chosen your subject, you can book a session with one of our specialist tutors. Our sessions run weekly and are designed to help you steadily improve over time. Check our session calendar here. Payment is processed easily through our secure platform.

3. Join the Online Session

After booking, you’ll receive an onboarding email which contains a link to your group Google Meets session. You’ll join other students who are studying the same subject and level, creating a collaborative learning environment where ideas and questions can be shared. 4. SESSION STRUCTURE

Our sessions generally follow this flexible structure:

  • Starter Activity: A brief recap of previous lessons to reinforce your understanding.

  • Content Delivery: The tutor will introduce new material or deepen your knowledge on a particular topic, adapting their approach to your learning pace.

  • Group Learning: The tutor will guide interactive activities, fostering engagement and active participation from every student.

  • Exam Practice: We end with exam-style questions to help you apply what you've learned and gain confidence with exam techniques.

Since every student is different, this structure is adaptable based on the subject and the students’ specific needs.

5. marked homework

Homework is included as part of the lesson package. After each session, your tutor will assign exam-style questions or subject-specific tasks designed to reinforce what you’ve learned. You'll upload your completed homework to Google Classroom, where it will be marked by our subject leads. You’ll receive detailed feedback on how to improve your answers, such as optimising structure in maths or using more precise terminology in science, ensuring you're always progressing towards exam success.

6. specialist resources

After your first session, you’ll get exclusive access to our specialist resources, which include revision guides, practice questions, and tips that have been proven to boost exam performance.

7. 24/7 Tutor Support

Although the sessions are held in groups, each student has access to their tutor outside of class. You can email your tutor anytime for additional support and will receive a response within 24 hours.

Parents are kept in the loop with detailed monthly progress reports. These reports will outline your engagement, improvements, and areas needing extra attention, ensuring everyone stays on track.
